Chibiusa was dozing in and out of sleep every so often. She was trying to keep herself awake and so she would fall into a very light sleep and would wake herself up and realize only minutes passed. When Jackson walked into her room she glanced at her clock and found that she was asleep for about ten minutes. Slow tired eyes blinked up at him as he reached for her and hugged her close. A pathetic whine and she felt fresh tears stream down her face as she was held. Still she felt numb and limp but she was far from wanting him to stop. The physical touch did very little for her inside but it felt good on the outside to be held.
"Jackson.." She had been quiet, but a shudder came over her body and she whimpered. "Pl..please.."
"Shhh. I'm here now. You don't gotta say anything." Jackson pet her hair away from her forehead, then wiped her tears away before kissing her forehead. Without asking permission, Jackson stood up and slipped his arms under and around her, picking her up and cradling her against his chest. Without further comment, he walked out of her bedroom and carried her down through the large manor and out the front door.
Jackson carried her all the way to his cottage and once there, took her in to his bed and he sat down, leaning against the headboard, and cradled her on his lap. Jackson guided her head to his shoulder and began gently rocking her, occasionally petting or kissing her head.
Chibiusa was dozing and stirring as Jackson made the journey to his home. Her eyes were puffy and sensitive, so she mostly kept them closed from the early day light. She was exhausted but fighting sleep. It was strange, she couldn't pin point exactly why she was fighting it, but she just didn't want to sleep. Luna P was still in the form of her Tuxedo Mask doll and Chibiusa was wearing the same thing she did last night. A navy blue skirt and a thin tank top. She had been put to bed with Serenity who stayed with her and held her, but eventually her mother left.
Chibiusa woke again and she was on his lap in his room. It took her a few seconds to recall how she got here and her little head tilt back and her eyes looked up to his face. Slowly blinking. "I .. die too."
He held her carefully, watching as she woke up. At her words he shook his head, uncertain what to say right now, but he brought one hand up to cup her face and swipe his thumb gently along her soft little cheek. Jackson's first reaction was to say that we all die, but he knew maybe that wasn't true for her species or whatever her and Serenity were. Instead he gave a sigh and shook his head again.
"Maybe you do, maybe you don't, right? By comin here we all know there are different realities and timelines and all kind of crazy shit. Maybe in the dimension your mom comes from you do die, maybe in yours you don't. Maybe you comin here, you're gonna live the rest of your life here, nobody can know that. Your mom sure as hell don't know that."
Chibiusa blinked, her face warmed and fresh tears streamed silently down the sides of her face as she peered upward at him. "Every one.. dead." Her sight became blurred with her sorrow and she closed her eyes with more tears seeping out from her lashes. She didn't want to die, she didn't want everyone to be dead. She wanted to live she wanted to be strong, to be good, but in the end she dies alongside everyone besides her mother.
Everyone.. don't leave me.. A childish voice came to her mind and she found herself delving deep into her fears. "S..stay.." she begged of him. Her mother and her can live here forever, Jackson can be here with her, "please." No one has to die. Usagi, Rei, maybe the others will come!
"I'm here. I ain't going anywhere." Jackson leaned his head back and stared across the room as he cradled the little girl's body. The longer he sat there the angrier he became at Serenity, not just angry but genuinely upset. Not only had Serenity wrecked her own daughter but she had publically broadcast about -- and he could only guess but the pieces fit -- his mentor and now very close friend Ezio. Jackson knew he couldn't do anything about it because he was just as certain that Serenity had no real understanding of the damage she had caused, otherwise she wouldn't have made the decisions she had. The woman was so wrapped up in herself she didn't seem to pay any mind to wreckage she left in her wake.
The wreckage that now Jackson had to clean up! Not only did he have to deal with the fall out of little Chibiusa but he also needed to speak with Ezio about this, and soon. Not that he minded, no. He was friend to both and he loved both in their own way, but it was all so unnecessary. Jackson looked back down to his daughter and pet her face again. "Sleep, Bunny. Get some rest, we'll talk about this all when you wake up."
